media compression
For this week I learned about media compression which I have never really thought about before or have never came across this topic before. I have learned that media compression is uploading a video in the correct format and size depending on the website and size of video. The aim is to essentially make the file smaller whilst containing the quality of the video the main four methods of using compression are frame, colour, picture, sound. there are two types of compression that occur theses are lossy which is when some information that isn't relevant is lost. And then there's lossless which is the opposite its where every information in the sile must maintain in the file and cannot be removed. This technique is also applies to audio compression with lossy and lossless as in the video "what you lose when you compress music to mp "in this video it demonstrates the lossy method in the case where as some of the audio has been cut but it is unnoticeable to the public as we tend to block out certain sounds anyway.in the video which shows a visual representation of the different qualities called "difference in frame rates "you can clearly see that the higher the fps the higher the quality the video is. I was unaware of these techniques before setting out this task I am more aware of the topic now however I am still unsure about the video codecs, and containers as I didn't think the video was as clear as it could've been.
