week 12, project task

 For the group project my role was to research the use sampling in the music industry I also researched the importance of copyright and how its important for artists to own the rights to there songs so no one can steal their songs and take credit for them. I researched different artists and came across Kanye west who used a music sample from daft punk and used it in his own song but gave credit to daft punk and got permission. in another case I researched lawsuits regarding copyright and came across mac millers 10 million dollar lawsuit as he never gave credit to the original owner of a sound that he used and there for didn't make profit off his song.

 After conducting this project task I have realised that working in a group makes you have a better understanding for carrying out a specific tasks. I found working in a group quite well and considering the circumstances of the world right now communicating with everyone went well as we had the use of the platform discord which was very helpful. I recorded my voice over on my phone which was later put over the animation for the video. everyone in my group participated equally and carried out their individual rolls to their best attempt. For the video we all communicated well and decide on some ideas together that we all agreed on, we had a good plan for the video and be followed through with the plan

media compression

For this week I learned about media compression which I have never really thought about before or have never came across this topic before. I have learned that media compression is uploading a video in the correct format and size depending on the website and size of video. The aim is to essentially make the file smaller whilst containing the quality of the video the main four methods of using compression are frame, colour, picture, sound. there are two types of compression that occur theses are lossy which is when some information that isn't relevant is lost. And then there's lossless which is the opposite its where every information in the sile must maintain in the file and cannot be removed.
